OPINION: Why we should cover the trauma, not drama, of school shootings
Sandy Hook. Columbine. Marjory Stoneman Douglas. When Denver schools locked down earlier this week in response to a threatened school shooting, that little voice went off inside my head. The one that remembers all the shootings that came before. And just like before, I saw the media, mobilizing furiously to cover the fear and outrage that school shootings trigger.
