VIDEO: ‘Scared, surprised, determined’ — youth in Oakland, California, react to Trump’s election
OAKLAND, California — Youth videographers at Media Enterprise Alliance in Oakland created this video in response to Republican Donald J. Trump’s victory in the U.S. presidential election on Nov. 8.
Oakland, along with Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and other cities across the U.S., has been the site of heated and repeated protests by supporters of both Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton as well as Trump over the past several days.
Between 5,000 and 10,000 protesters formed a human chain 3.7 miles in circumference around Oakland’s Lake Merritt on Sunday, Nov. 13, capping five days of nighttime protests in Oakland, according to the East Bay Express.
