“Here Today,” a digital stories project by, for and about refugees who are part of more than 60 million people on the move worldwide, is a deep exploration of global migration issues centered in Paris.

“Here Today” was a collaboration between Global Student Square, and the American School of Paris and Association Pierre Claver, a school for refugees who are seeking asylum in France.
The project, which took place between September and November of 2016, includes nearly 40 written stories, videos, photo galleries, interactive maps and infographics.
“The title of this project points to assumptions we sometimes have about displaced people — that they are here today and will probably be gone tomorrow,” says GSS executive director Beatrice Motamedi.
“But as we’ve seen with the mass migration taking place from Syria, Afghanistan, Sudan and other places in the world, that’s not true. And within each displaced person is a human story waiting to be told.”
